Manufacturers' Junction Railway (“MJ”) owns and operates over 6 miles of
trackage. The railroad was incorporated to serve the former Western
Electric Hawthorne Works, a primary producer of telephones and related
equipment. Although a portion of the Hawthorne plant was converted into
retail space, the majority was redeveloped into a business center which include
rail customer candidates.
Substantial warehouse space is available on and around the MJ, presenting many
growth opportunities as companies continue to relocate into the area. MJ
also maintains a Locomotive Rehabilitation Center at the MJ shops. MJ also
provides services such as switching and storage for connecting railroads.
