The GWRC owns and is an essential link for the industrial businesses of Wilkes County, Georgia, transporting many commodities including plastic pellets, wood chips, lumber, lumber products, and petroleum gases. 

This 17-mile railroad, operating between Washington and its connection with CSXT at Barnett, serves Burt Lumber, Pliant Corporation, and Texon.  GWRC provides regional logistics services to numerous other customers with bulk transfer-distribution and railcar storage, with 200 car spots available.
