  • 1986 - Three investors proposed a deal that was originally a real estate opportunity that became Great Western Railway of Colorado
  • 1987 - Leased Great Western of Oregon
  • 1991 - Purchase consisting of six short line railroads - CWP&S, MJ, NSR, CRL, KSW, WICT, and GWR
  • Sold Wisconsin & Calumet the next day
  • Merged CWP&S and CRL
  • 1992 - Purchased 1,000 miles of track from Santa Fe in Kansas
  • 1993 - Shed Great Western of Oregon
  • 1994 - Added Fort Collins, Colorado to the Great Western Railway of Colorado
  • QTS puts new dots on the map from California to Texas
  • 1996 - Added Greeley, Colorado to the Great Western Railway of Colorado
  • 1997 - Purchased the Port of Churchill and Tank Farm
  • 2004 - Obtained KFR
  • 2004 - CSX releases the leases - leading to the ATN and FCR
  • 2005 - Acquired North American RailNet rail lines: GFR, IR, and NKCR
  • 2006-Today - Added transload services and established shuttle services on the NKCR
